Zer0Hunger is a Sustainable Social Impact Action Platform registered with MaGIC (Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre) that aims to be the most comprehensive platform addressing a wide range of social problems that include poverty, hunger, food banks, fulfillment entities and community farms. A one-stop access to data allows networking opportunities for collective action. An integrated focal point where civil society, government agencies and the private sector converge in addressing the needs of the hungry.
ZER0HUNGER is a platform created to systematically address hunger in Malaysia. Hunger spots are mapped out via a customized geolocate hunger map with the number of people downloading and using the app. We are part of the MATCH hub; a public and private sector mechanism, leading the Food Security cluster.
UN reports 851 million people go to bed hungry every night and an increasing number of people living on hunger globally, another 130 million people could be pushed to the brink of starvation by the end of 2020 connected to the COVID-19 crisis. Our vision is to use information technology to locate and help those who are in hunger due to lack of income and savings.
The technology we build allows us to create visual awareness of hunger spots thus centrally coordinating efforts to mitigate duplication and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of relief operations. In addition, it allows us to execute on-demand food aid to beneficiaries, transparent verified beneficiary profiling, avoiding duplication or scams. The data and information we receive from multiple data sets go to connecting funding partners to verified information, with regional and global scalability that meets UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference.
